Long-Term Investors aren't scared...

A Higher Percentage of Long-Term investors commit to holding and buying more property

In a recent survey of nearly 400 property investors, only 20% said they were thinking about selling a property which is a lower number than 1 month earlier. 

The strength of commitment from investors was also backed up by the fact that nearly 30% of respondents are thinking about buying more property in the coming 12 months – this is up again on a month ago.  65% of the group also stated they would hold their property for at least another 10 years.

This further backs up the general sentiment I see, hear, and read about which is that the media are only helping Investors seize opportunities.  There is an increasing view that the correction won’t be anywhere near where the doomsayers will wax lyrical about.  There is an increasing view that interest rate rises will ease off faster than many believe – again, partly down to the work that the media are doing to dampen spending and fast-tracking the necessary cooling of spending that government sorely wants and needs.

But, as with everything, it’s somewhat unpredictable - but if history has anything to go by, we generally think the best or worst and end up somewhere in-between. But picking the top or the bottom is a fools game. Having a long-term view is key.
