I saw this article on stuff.co.nz and thought it was a fair and balanced view on reasons why you should use a mortgage broker - but also a wider perspective on the representation of brokers here and overseas.

Obviously, I am biased and strongly believe that you should use a broker - it's not just about rates (although we get as good if not better than directly with banks) but it's about structure, the right lender with financial knowledge for your situation, understanding different lender policies and the impact of a decision now on any future plans and much much more.
